Do you ever look around your home and think, “Where do I even start?”
If you’re a busy woman juggling work, family, and everything in between, finding the time (and energy!) to organise your space can feel impossible.
The good news? You don’t need a full weekend or an empty calendar to start making progress.
Small steps really do add up — and the right quick wins can give you that burst of motivation to keep going.
In this guide, I’ll share simple, ADHD-friendly home organisation tips that will help you kickstart your journey without overwhelm.
When your home feels chaotic, starting small gives you:
Instant results – which fuels motivation.
Less overwhelm – no big projects that drag on.
Momentum – once you see progress, it’s easier to keep going.
Think of these as mini victories that create a ripple effect through the rest of your home.

Instead of trying to “declutter the whole kitchen,” pick one surface:
Your dining table.
Your kitchen counter.
Your bedside table.
Clear it completely. Wipe it down. Only put back what truly belongs there.
👉 In just 10 minutes, you’ll see a huge visual difference.
Set a timer for five minutes and tackle one small task:
Throw away expired food in the fridge.
Recycle old receipts from your handbag.
Clear five random items off the floor.
Five minutes might not feel like much, but it stops procrastination in its tracks. And often? You’ll keep going once you start.
Forget “organising the whole room.”
Choose one drawer — and finish it.
Junk drawer in the kitchen.
Bathroom makeup drawer.
Desk drawer with cables and pens.
Empty it, sort it, and only put back what you use.
💡 Pro tip: Add small dividers or boxes inside to keep categories neat.

Sometimes the clutter is everywhere. Instead of panicking, grab a bag and choose a focus:
Donate bag: Fill it with clothes you haven’t worn in a year.
Rubbish bag: Walk around the house tossing broken or unusable items.
Recycle bag: Collect paper, bottles, and packaging.
When the bag is full, it’s done. You’ve made progress.
Busy women often struggle with things piling up at the door — keys, bags, post, shoes.
👉 Create a simple drop zone near your entryway:
A basket for post.
A tray for keys.
Hooks for bags and coats.
This keeps the chaos contained and makes coming home less stressful.
This can help if you constantly feel like stuff is creeping in.
Bought a new top? Let go of one old one.
New mug for the kitchen? Donate one from the cupboard.
It’s a tiny habit that prevents clutter from building up again.
This may not suite everyone so don't be too hard on yourself if this isnt working for you!

Every home has those clutter magnets — the spots where things just pile up.
Maybe it’s:
The hallway table.
The chair where clothes land
The kitchen counter.
Pick one hot spot and reset it daily. This 2-minute habit keeps chaos under control.
If you’re neuro-divergent (like me ✨), out of sight often means out of mind.
Use clear boxes instead of opaque ones.
Label things in big, obvious writing.
Store everyday items where you can see and reach them easily.
Organisation doesn’t need to be “pretty.” It needs to work for your brain.
Before you go to bed, take five minutes to do a tiny reset:
Load the dishwasher.
Fold the blanket on the sofa.
Put shoes back where they belong.
It sets the tone for a calmer morning.

The secret to keeping your home organised isn’t perfection. It’s progress.
Even if you only cleared one drawer today — that’s a win. Celebrate it.
Take a photo. Share it. Notice the difference it makes.
